(WEAA)— Students, faculty and staff gathered on Thursday outside of the School of Global Journalism & Communication (SGJC) building for a ‘Freshman House Party’.
SGJC and WEAA organized the celebration to welcome incoming journalism majors to the campus of Morgan State University.

Although the event was created with freshmen in mind, sophomores, juniors and seniors also stopped by to enjoy lunch, games, giveaways and live music provided by DJ Duke.
SGJC Dean Jacqueline Jones was also in attendance, ‘two-stepping’ and greeting students.
During the celebration, undergraduates were given the opportunity to speak live on air during Robert Shahid’s Masterclass to share their expectations for the school year. Others were interviewed by WEAA interns for the station’s student-led newscast, The Morgan News Hour.
The party was held from 11 am-1 pm.
