School official: COVID outbreak at Roland Park Elementary\Middle School

By Amere Dorsey with SGJC Student News Network

(WEAA)— Baltimore Public School officials are confirming an outbreak of COVID-19 at a north Baltimore school.

Officials at Roland Park Elementary/Middle sent a letter home to parents on Monday informing them of at least thirty-cases of the virus in the sixth grade.

The school said those who tested positive are at home isolating.

Officials also announced that the remainder of the sixth grade is moving to virtual learning due to staffing shortages due to the outbreak.

The school said a decision on when sixth graders will be allowed to return to class will depend on the results of COVID testing.

When students and staff return to classrooms, they will be required to wear masks for ten days to protect everyone's safety.
