(Baltimore, MD) -- Faced with a driver's shortage, the Maryland Transit Administration is announcing plans to adjust transit schedules starting next month.
The MTA says weekday trains will run on Saturday schedules and trains will arrive every fifteen minutes at most of the Light Rail stations, starting on July 10th.
Trains will also continue to alternate to BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport and Glen Burnie every half-hour.
The new schedule will be reviewed in the fall based on the number of operators available.
The Maryland Transportation Department is working to hire new operators for light rail trains in an attempt to get staffing up to desired levels.
In response to a shortage of operators, MDOT MTA announced a temporary adjustment in Light Rail service to align service levels with operator availability and ridership. These changes take effect the week of July 10. For more information, visit https://t.co/lkU5zLUKQ5 pic.twitter.com/FdzqgEsdT2
