(Baltimore, MD) -- Three people are in serious condition after an explosion in Baltimore's Pigtown area.

Bldg inspectors remain on the scene to evaluate the stability of adjacent homes to determine if residents are able to enter their home. It happened at a home in the 1100 block of Bayard Street around 2 p.m.
Several homes were damaged, and one was completely destroyed, according to fire officials.
They say a man tried to rescue two women inside the home when it collapsed.
There's no word yet on what caused the blast.
