(Baltimore, MD) -- Retired Baltimore City public schoolteacher and longtime political campaign manager Diana Gibson has died from a heart attack.
Gibson was 82 when she passed away March 15th at her home in Guilford.
Gibson taught at Windsor Hills Elementary School in Baltimore City and then at Harford Heights Elementary School in South Clifton Park.
When she retired from teaching, she entered politics and worked for three political leaders, including Baltimore's first elected Black mayor, Kurt Schmoke.
She later worked for the late Congressman Elijah Cummings and for Congressman Kweisi Mfume, who said she was nicknamed Lady Di for her class and poise.
A viewing will be held on Friday at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services - East, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
A funeral mass is scheduled tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Mary the Queen.
