(WEAA)— WEAA 88.9-FM has received five nominations in the 2022 Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association (CAPBA) Contest.
The CAPBA is an organization composed of radio and television members of The Associated Press (AP) throughout Maryland, Washington D.C., and Delaware.
The group recognizes impactful broadcast journalism through their annual awards contest.
WEAA was nominated for Outstanding Use of Sound, Outstanding Editorial or Commentary, Outstanding Public Affairs, Outstanding Sports Feature, and Outstanding News Operation.
According to AP officials, judges evaluated 314 entries from 27 news organizations which consisted of news, sports, and web stories from 2022.
The awards will be announced at the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters AssociationAwards Banquet on Saturday, June 3, in Ocean City.
