(Baltimore, MD) -- The Baltimore City Council tonight considers a bill to improve the transparency in how the city spends its money on grants.
The proposal comes from Councilman Isaac Schleifer. It would require certain recipients of city grants to document their spending and for the city's Board of Estimates to post information about the grants on its website.
The proposal would also require financial disclosure information from certain employees and organizations involved in the grant process.
