(Baltimore, MD) -- Baltimore City Councilman Eric Costello sys he'll seek reelection to his 11th District seat and not a citywide office.
The 42-year-old Democrat had stirred speculation he might seek a citywide office when he surveyed city voters on his name recognition and a possible run for mayor.
But at a fundraiser last night, he told the Baltimore Banner he decided his council seat is where he can have the greatest impact for residents.
Costello can also have an impact on the mayor's race. He has the deepest pockets of any council member -- with $440,000 in the bank reported in January -- but he has not yet said whom he would endorse for mayor.
