MDTF-1 Heading To Hawaii
(Rockville, MD) -- An urban search and rescue team based out of Maryland is heading to Hawaii.
The 80-member Maryland Task Force 1 is due to fly out of BWI tonight and arrive in Hawaii around 8:00 Thursday morning, local time.
They'll be assisting other teams conducting search and rescue operations following the deadly Maui wildfires.
Task Force 1 is made up of first responders from Montgomery, Howard and Prince George's counties, as well as Washington, DC.
Update: MDTF-1 will board buses (from Dover Rd Warehouse) at 5:00pm and leave for BWI. Flying out tonight (8:30-9:30) and will stop for fuel on the west coast- tentatively will arrive 08:00 local time in Hawaii. @MCFRSNews @mcfrsPIO pic.twitter.com/acvuB3jG4K
