(Baltimore, MD) -- The Baltimore City Board of Estimates is deferring a vote on a contract for Acting Police Commissioner Richard Worley.
Many expected the spending board to approve the $285,000 agreement with Worley at Wednesday's meeting, but the panel put off a decision without discussing it.
The Baltimore Sun reports the contract includes a provision that would guarantee Worley a year's pay if the City Council fails to confirm him.
That's something Mayor Brandon Scott has opposed in the past but now supports for Worley.
Worley and Acting Fire Chief James Wallace are scheduled for confirmation hearings on Thursday night.
