(Baltimore, MD) -- The Baltimore Police union is calling on Mayor Brandon Scott and the City Council to support the recruitment and retention of officers in the new year.

FOP Lodge 3 President Mike Mancuso posted a message on social media saying public safety must be of the utmost importance or nothing else in Baltimore can flourish.

Mancuso is pleased that former Commissioner Michael Harrison and ex-City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby are out, saying Commissioner Rich Worley, State's Attorney Ivan Bates and U.S. Attorney Erek Barron have shown a willingness to work with the union.

Mancuso is looking forward to negotiating a new labor contract and making BPD officers the highest paid in the state, would be a great start to 2024.
