(Baltimore, MD) -- Maryland is experiencing a summer spike in COVID cases.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says Maryland is among seven states reporting a very high level of infections.
According to the Baltimore Banner, the Maryland health department reports the case rate was about four per 100,000 people as of July 15th.
That's up from a rate 2.77 per 100,000 from the previous week.
Hospitalizations are also rising, with about 119 COVID patients receiving treatment in Maryland, as of Monday.
