(Baltimore, MD) -- The Baltimore City Council questioned BGE about its rate increases on Thursday night.
During a City Hall hearing about the rising rates, Council President Zeke Cohen said the increases appear to be far worse than anticipated, adding that Baltimoreans are suffering and today they the council says enough is enough.
Council members are on the Public Service Commission to end the multi-year rate plan and stop BGE's proposed 2026 increases.
BGE says Maryland's EmPOWER program, state's climate goals, aging infrastructure and the unusually cold weather have all contributed to the need for higher rates.
