The Maryland Freedom Caucus is under fire for calling Wes Moore a "ghetto governor."
On Thursday, caucus director Ali Rak posted a message on X, showing the governor at the demolition of Pimlico Race Track.
Rak's post read "Ghetto Governor Moore. Standing in front of a race track so unprofitable it had to be bailed out by $400M of state funds to rebuild."

Maryland Democratic Party Chair Steuart Pittman released a statement saying Rak resorted to racist name calling when she went online to call America's only sitting Black governor "Ghetto Governor."
Pittman says it's disgusting and unacceptable.
He says Trump's attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion have emboldened people to use racist language without fear of consequence and hateful speech must be condemned.
He says Republicans and the caucus must disavow the comment and hold their leadership accountable or "we can only assume that racism is the official position of the Maryland Freedom Caucus."
