Kamau Franklin joins Farajii Muhammad to discuss modern day activists and Black liberation movements

BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) —Samaria Rice and Lisa Simpson are accusing social justice activists of exploiting killings of Black people for “clout” following a performance at the 2021 Grammy Awards. 

Samaria is the mother of Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old boy who was shot by police in Cleveland in 2014. 

Lisa’s son Richard Risher, was 18 when he was killed by Los Angelos police in 2016. 

 

 

Kamua Franklin, community organizer, writer and lawyer joins Farajii Muhammad to weigh in on the situation, discuss the power of movement leaders and the importance of using resources to benefit communities.
