In this mini series, Mike Nyce, host of WEAA’s Hip-Hop Chronicles, explores the history, art and culture behind the many vibrant murals painted around Baltimore City.

Baltimore City Arabbers- people who sell produce from a horse-drawn wagon

“It’s not just a mural, but a family portrait.”

Mike Nyce introduces us to James Chase, an arabber illustrated in a family portrait on a wall on North Fremont Avenue in West Baltimore.

Chase breaks down the history behind the artwork, arabber culture and contributions his family has made to the community.
