Coronavirus latest: Maryland hospitalizations at an all-time high

(BALTIMORE, Md) Governor Larry Hogan says hospitalizations are at an all-time high in Maryland due to coronavirus patients. 

According to the Maryland Department of Health, there are 1,715 people currently hospitalized due to the virus. An increase of 62 patients since Tuesday. 

State officials have taken action to mobilize a statewide medical staffing surge and enable hospitals to transfer patients as needed. 

The state also reports an increase of 2,692 positive cases have been added since Tuesday morning. 

Records show 4,801 people have died from COVID-19 in Maryland. Officials say, 46 deaths have been added in the past 24 hours. 

The governor held a briefing Tuesday to provide an update on the state's COVID-19 plan.
