BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — Maryland health officials say 69.1% of adults and 88.1% of seniors in the state have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

More than 6 million total vaccinations have been administered.

Governor Larry Hogan posted on Twitter saying, “Maryland has surpassed 6 million total COVID-19 vaccinations, as our key health metrics continue to decline. We are outpacing the national vaccination rate...”

As of Thursday morning, 217 new cases of the virus and five deaths have been added within 24 hours.

However, health officials say 517 COVID-related deaths have been added to the death toll to include deaths that were not properly classified by medical certifiers over the past year.
