Maryland's police reform workgroup hold its first meeting

Maryland Delegate Curt Anderson

The bipartisan panel was created after the police custody death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. House Speaker Adrienne Jones says policing in America is broken and she wants recommendations to improve accountability and transparency.  During the meetings, the group plans to look at the Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights which has come under fire by those who believe it prevents the discipline of police officers and prevents misconduct investigations.  The workgroup's next meeting is in three weeks.
