Students electing to participate in spring break travel are strongly encouraged to avoid traveling to locations, domestic or international, where cases of covid-19 have been identified.  Should students elect to visit one of these locations against university advisement, self-quarantine protocols and testing will be recommended before they are able to return to campus.  Morgan State University has been and will continue to closely monitor the evolving developments involving coronavirus (COVID-19).  There are currently no confirmed cases of covid-19 at Morgan State University.

In statement released Tuesday, University President Dr. David Wilson said in part, as result of the reality of the Coronavirus reality, the proactive decision to suspend all in-classroom instruction for a minimum of two weeks – following next week’s Spring Break (March 16-20) after meeting with his administrative team. “

After Spring Break, we will move to online/remote learning instruction for all undergraduate and advanced degree studies,” said Wilson. “ At the end of the two-week period, we will reassess the situation to determine if further action is necessary.”

In addition, the University has elected to suspend all official business and student-related travel – both domestic and international. In keeping with recommendations from the CDC, [Morgan State University]  will also be canceling and/or rescheduling a number of planned large crowd events on our campus, including our upcoming Open House scheduled for April 3.
