BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — Days after being hit by a deadly 7.2 magnitude earthquake, heavy rain and strong winds rolled through Haiti Tuesday making matters worse.
Akim Kikonda with Catholic Relief Services joins Two Way Talk from Haiti to share the trauma and distress Haitians are experiencing and the relief efforts needed to bring the country back to its feet.
“This month, we had Tropical Fred, and then the earthquake and then Tropical Grace. So it’s disaster after disaster and people are really desperate. The needs are huge and we really need as much assistance and support that we can receive.”
