Three dead after fatal crash involving MTA bus, BMW

Baltimore City Police Department/Facebook

Baltimore police say at approximately 9:41 p.m. Wednesday, officers received a report of a carjacking involving a white BMW. Citywide Robbery detectives assumed control of the investigation and located the vehicle in the Northwest District. Detectives called for marked police units to stop the vehicle. The driver of the BMW accelerated once he observed police and turned onto Wabash Avenue, traveling northbound in the 5200 block. Police say an MTA bus driver later told investigators the BMW was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck the bus as it was turning onto Eldorado Avenue from Wabash Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene of the collision, they observed an MTA bus and a BMW with three seriously injured males inside. The three occupants of the BMW were transported to area hospitals and pronounced dead by medical personnel shortly after arrival. The MTA bus driver was not injured. Crash Team Investigators are investigating the collision.

The three deceased individuals have not been positively identified.
