Baltimore Inspector General speaks on $2.2M website redesign delays and spending concerns

The City of Baltimore has faced scrutiny over a website redesign project that has reportedly cost more than $2.2 million and remains unfinished.

Baltimore City Inspector General Isabel Cumming raised concerns about the city’s management of taxpayer funds after a recent report revealed the project is nearly two years behind schedule.

The project, launched in 2020, began with a bid process that invited six companies — but only two submitted proposals. The city ultimately selected the higher bid of $1.2 million, with additional expenses pushing the total cost to over $2.2 million.

The Inspector General’s report highlights ongoing issues with oversight and cost management for the project.
