Five years after the devastating earthquake that killed more than 200,000 people, Haiti has made real progress. The rubble has been cleared, roads and buildings have gone up, but tens of thousands of Haitians still live in tent cities.
Meanwhile, political turmoil in the federal government is threatening further progress. NPR’s Carrie Kahn is in Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince and speaks with Here & Now’s Robin Young about how Haitians are doing and feeling five years, to the day, after the 7.0 magnitude earthquake.
