(Baltimore, MD) -- Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott has announced more than $6-million in additional funding for the arts.
The money comes from the American Rescue Plan Act funds and it will be used to support arts and cultural institutions led by diverse artists and groups.
The mayor says he's incredibly proud of the investment and the majority of funding will go directly to supporting underrepresented artists who have been deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some of the recipients include the Baltimore Museum of Art and Walters Art Museum, the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts and the United Way of Central Maryland which will manage a grant award process.
