WEAA voted Best Black Radio Station in Baltimore

WEAA personalities Mykel Hunter, Mike Nyce, Robert Shahid, Dr. Kaye, and Lena J.

The Best of Black Baltimore has named WEAA 88.9FM the Best Black Radio Station of 2023.

Presented by The Baltimore Times, The Best of Black Baltimore, allows residents to nominate and vote on businesses that they consider to be distinctive and special to the community.

The NPR affiliated public radio station has been broadcasting from the campus of Morgan State University since 1977.

WEAA's mission is to educate and empower its listeners.

Its 24-hour format features a range of news, sports, and music programming, including jazz, neo-soul, reggae, hip-hop, and gospel.

The Baltimore Times will host a "Red Carpet" affair on Thursday, February 1 to honor and celebrate the city's Black-owned businesses.
