Winter Weather Advisory

A winter weather advisory is in effect in the Baltimore area until 10 p.m. tonight. The forecast is calling for snow, sleet and freezing rain, with up to an inch of snow accumulation and up to 1/10 inch of ice. Roads will likely be impacted by the wintry mix, which should make for dangerous travel in the region. Drivers should be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility. Most school districts, including Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Carroll County, dismissed school early due to the inclement weather.

O’Malley Says He Won’t Run for Mikulski Seat

Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley says he won’t run for the seat of retiring Senator Barbara Mikulski. In a statement today, O'Malley said he's confident that some very capable candidates will vie for the seat, but he will not be one of them. He is still to be considering a run for president in 2016. In a statement yesterday, President Obama said Mikulski’s leadership serves as an inspiration to millions of women and girls across the globe to stand up and lead. The 78-year-old Mikulski is the longest-serving woman in Congress.

The fourth-ranked Terps are the number one seed going into the tournament, and will play Friday against either Michigan or Michigan State.
