Family, friends, and and fellow students gathered at Bowie State University last night to remember Richard Collins III, who was stabbed to death early Saturday at the university of Maryland. The 23 year old Collins was commissioned as as second lieutenant in the army, and was supposed to graduate this morning. Severna Park resident Sean Urbanski, who is white, is charged with killing Collins, who is black. The FBI is investigating to determine if Collin’s death was a hate crime, after learning of Urbanski’s possible involvement with a racist Facebook group.
And, five of the six Baltimore police officers involved in the Freddie Gray case are now facing internal department charges. The Baltimore Sun reports that three of the officers could be fired.
