ACLU of MD to file lawsuits against Trump Administration
President Trump is advising congressional Republicans to stop wasting their time on immigration. Trump tweeted Thursday that GOP leaders should wait until more Republicans are elected in the upcoming midterm elections. Trump also predicted a "Red Wave" of Republican victories in November. One House Republican immigration bill failed and a Thursday and a vote on a more moderate second bill has been postponed until next week.
Meanwhile, The American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland says it plans to file lawsuits against the Trump Administration over its zero-tolerance policy, which until Thursday, saw children separated from their parents who were trying to enter the country --seeking asylum at the southern U.S.-Mexico border. President Trump signed an executive order that ended the separation families--but kept intact the zero-tolerance of illegal immigration at the southern border.
