City fire officials say a woman was found dead Wednesday morning after fire ravaged her home. Investigators say the blaze touched off around 2:15 a.m.
A fire station just so happened to be nearby the home in the 2500 block of West Fairmount Avenue. Firefighters broke into the home through heavy smoke and soon after found the woman’s body. It’s believed she was home alone. The cause of death and the fire are under investigation by the Baltimore City Fire and Police Departments because a death is involved.
