Woman killed in parking lot incident, granddaughter injured
Baltimore County Police are investigating a crash that killed one person and left another injured on the evening of Saturday night. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and has been identified as 67-year old Ravinder Rao.
The child that she was holding, her 11 month old granddaughter was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries and is in good condition at this time.
Police were dispatched to a parking lot in front of Target, located in the 11000 block of Reisterstown Road, at approximately 10 p.m. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2014 Nissan Altima was pulling away from the store when it struck a legally parked 2010 Nissan Sentra. A pedestrian, who had just exited from the parked Nissan Sentra, was standing nearby holding a small child, and was subsequently also struck as a result of the collision. The Nissan Altima continued traveling forward, also striking the adult pedestrian directly and causing both she and the small child to fall to the ground.
