Firefighters injured, over a dozen people displaced after early morning Severn fire

Twitter/Anne Arundel County Fire Department

In Anne Arundel County early Monday morning, two firefighters were injured and taken to the hospital suffering heat exhaustion from their efforts in battling a 2-alarm fire that damaged two houses.

Firefighters responded to a call that came in just before 2 a.m. about a rowhouse fire in the 1700 block of Mead Village Circle.

Investigators say both houses have working fire alarms and those alarms saved lives, as residents were asleep when the fire touched off.  A total of 15 people—six adults and nine children lost their homes. All of the occupants made it out safely. The cause of the blaze is under investigation
