BPD: Man arrested, charged in connection with fatal stabbing

Investigators say the suspect the alleged assailant in the death of Tracey Phelps, 51, was her very own son.  Kenard Kuniken, 30, who lived with his mother, was transported to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with 1st degree murder.

Police say at approximately 1:00 p.m. Monday, Northeast District patrol officers responded to the 6400 block of Walther Avenue for a report of a stabbing. Once at the location, officers located a woman with several stab wounds to the body. Medics responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
