COVID-19 in Maryland: 2,632 new cases, 50 more deaths

(BALTIMORE, MD) The Maryland Department of Health is reporting 50 more people have died from the coronavirus since Monday morning. A total of 4,755 people have died from the virus in the state.

Data shows, 2,632 new positive cases have been added since Monday morning.

Officials say a total of 219,961 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maryland.

Records show 1,653 people are currently hospitalized due to the virus. An increase of 92 since patients in the past 24 hours.

The statewide positivity rate is 7.61%.

Governor Larry Hogan held a briefing at 3 p.m. Tuesday to provide an update on Maryland's COVID-19 plan.
