BETHESDA, Md. (AP) — Police detectives in Maryland are trying to determine how a 2-year-old boy was shot and wounded inside a home over the weekend, and whether it was an accident or a crime.
News outlets report Montgomery County Police say the boy was shot at a home on Brassie Place in Montgomery Village shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday.
Police said a family member called 911 to report the incident while driving the boy to a hospital.
The boy, who does not live in the home, was wounded in a lower extremity.
The child's identity hasn't been released.
