COVID-19 in Maryland: More than 1,700 currently hospitalized

(BALTIMORE, MD) As of Friday morning, Maryland health officials report 2,616 positive coronavirus cases have been added in 24 hours.

Data shows, 51 more people have died. Maryland has recorded a total 4,901 coronavirus-related deaths.

More than 1,700 people are currently hospitalized due to the virus.

Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott announced new COVID-19 restrictions that go into effect Friday at 5pm.
