BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — Baltimore police have released body camera video of a deadly officer-involved shooting that occurred May 16, on East Lafayette Avenue.

During a news conference Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Brian Nadeau said officers responded to a home in east Baltimore after a child called 911 saying his father was attempting to stab his mother with a knife.

Police say when they arrived, 49-year-old Timothy Fleming was standing over his live-in girlfriend holding a large knife.

Nadeau says after 2 minutes and 20 seconds of attempting to de-escalate the situation,  Fleming raised the knife in an attempt to stab his girlfriend.

Two officers then fired shots at Fleming, striking him.

Fleming died at the scene.
