WALDORF, Md. (AP) — A Maryland sheriff’s spokeswoman says two deputies are in good condition, a day after being shot while trying to serve a warrant.
Charles County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Diane Richardson says deputies responded Monday to a caller in Waldorf who sought help in removing a man from his house.
Richardson said several deputies entered the home when two of them were shot multiple times.
Authorities said the man subsequently barricaded himself inside and a drone later found the man was dead with a handgun nearby.
The wounded deputies were identified as a 10-year-veteran assigned to patrol and an officer with less than a year of experience.
