BALTIMORE, MD (WEAA) — Baltimore police say five people were injured, one person was killed in a shooting in West Baltimore Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m on West Lexington Street near North Pulaski Street.

Police say, when officers arrived on scene, two victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

While investigating, detectives learned there were four more shooting victims seeking treatment at area hospitals.

One of the victims has died.

Officials say the other five victims are in serious to critical condition.

"We need now for community members who were out here or who know or believe what happened to please call us right away," Baltimore Police Commssioner Michael Harrison said while addressing the media.

Harrison said the shooting was a very brazen and cowardly act and the shooter could've potentially hit and killed many others.
