Two Baltimore City officers shot, suspect killed near Security Square Mall


BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD (WEAA) — Two Baltimore City Warrant Apprehension Task Force officers were injured and a suspect is dead after a shooting in Baltimore County. 


Police say the incident happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday on Security Boulevard near Security Square Mall. 


The officers were attempting to serve a homicide warrant on a 32-year old man wanted for 1st-degree murder in Baltimore City.

When the officers approached the vehicle, the suspect began shooting.


According to officials, the officers were taken to Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries. 


Detectives say the suspect was shot at least once. 


Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scotts said, "Building a safer Baltimore requires us to hold violent offenders accountable. That’s exactly what our Warrant Apprehension Task Force does each day. I’m deeply thankful that both officers are alert and upbeat. I wish them a full recovery and ask you to pray for their families".

Governor Larry Hogan tweeted, “We are praying for the speedy recovery of the two Baltimore City police officers who were shot this morning while pursuing a homicide suspect. The Maryland State Police has offered its full support for the investigation”.
