WEAA will fry your Thanksgiving turkey for free!
- You must bring your own turkey and pan. WEAA will not provide turkeys.
- No frozen turkeys allowed! The turkey must be thawed.
- Small turkeys only. For the sake of time, turkeys must weigh 10 lbs. or less.
- No brining or marinating. The added liquid doubles the cooking time.

WEAA’s Director of Underwriting and Development, Desmond Barlow discusses the upcoming holiday event.
Desmond, I hear you have some exciting things planned for WEAA this fall. What are you most excited about?
Great question. I’m most excited about giving WEAA’s long term members something different. WEAA’s audience has been giving to the public radio station for so many years and now I think it’s time they are able to get something beyond the great music and fascinating talk shows that WEAA offers.
Like what... a tote bag?
Well…yes. We are working on some reusable grocery bags but we’d like to fill them. But what really has me excited is our “Turkey Fry” happening on Thanksgiving Day! The event will take place from 8am-3pm at Camden Yards.
Do people eat fried turkey for Thanksgiving?
Not only do they eat fried turkey for Thanksgiving, it’s delicious. But frying turkeys can also be quite dangerous, many people have started fires trying to drop their turkeys in the hot oil. So we are having some of our favorite chefs keep our families safe by frying the turkeys for them.
