Baltimore to lift indoor mask requirement March 1

(WEAA)— Baltimore City will lift its indoor mask mandate on March 1.

Mayor Scott and City Health Commissioner Dr. Letitia Dzirasa made the announcement Thursday at a press conference.

“We are seeing a significant decline in our city’s COVID-19 metrics…cases, positivity and hospitalizations are all down to just a fraction of what they were a few weeks ago,” Scott shared.

The mayor says mask requirements will remain in place for city schools and businesses have the right to require masks in their establishments.

Earlier this week, Governor Larry Hogan lifted mask requirements for state workers and the Maryland Board of Education voted to lift the statewide mask mandate in schools but lawmakers will make the final decision which is expected Friday.
