(Baltimore, MD) -- A safety warning is being issued for students and staff at Johns Hopkins University.
The warning comes following an increase of violence in and around the school's Baltimore campus.
The warning is cautioning students and staff to be more aware of their surroundings and use the university's escort services.
An email from the school detailed six armed robberies within the last month along with two abductions or attempted abductions on or around the north Baltimore campus and near the Peabody campus in Mount Vernon.
The school says the campus community should expect to see a stepped up security presence in light of the campus violence.
