Gaithersburg, MD – Jamaal Germany, 31, is in custody after he allegedly tried to kidnap a child at a bus stop on Monday, says Montgomery County police.
According to officials, the victim was standing at a bus stop on Towne Crest Drive around 7:20 a.m. when Germany grabbed the child and “pulled them toward an apartment building”.
Several students who were also at the bus stop attempted to stop the kidnapping and the victim was able to break free.
Police say, the students reported the incident to school officials once the school bus arrived.
Germany is charged with attempted kidnapping and second-degree assault.
