(Baltimore, MD) -- During Monday's State of the City speech, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott addressed the measures the city is taking to reduce violence.
He said the Group Violence Reduction Strategy is working, noting fewer shootings in the Western District which began the pilot last year and a reduction in Southwest Baltimore which started earlier this year.

The mayor says losing young people to violence should be unacceptable to everyone and spoke about summer youth engagement strategies including longer hours for recreation centers, pool parties and summer camps.
