SGJC figures prominently in 2023 National Association of Black Journalists awards

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) has announced its 2023 Hall of Fame inductees and Special Honors recipients.

Morgan State University’s School of Global Journalism & Communication figures prominently in this year’s awards.

Dr. Shelia Brooks, former chair of SGJC’s Board of Visitors and founder of NABJ's Student Multimedia Projects and Randall Pinkston, Associate Director of SGJC's Center for New Media & Strategic Initiatives are among the 2023 inductees to the NABJ Hall of Fame.

Jordan Brown, a recent MSU graduate, and former WEAA student reporter has been named NABJ Student Journalist of the Year.

“We are excited, but not surprised, that these talented individuals are being honored. And we are grateful for the impact they have had and continue to have on the School of Global Journalism & Communication,” says SGJC Dean Jackie Jones.

Brooks, Pinkston, and Brown will be honored during the 2023 NABJ Convention in Birmingham this August.
