(Towson, MD) -- The union that represents Baltimore County firefighters alleges a toxic relationship created by department leaders has led to low staff morale and a staff shortage.
The Baltimore Sun reports this summer, the union held a vote of no confidence naming Baltimore County Fire Chief Joanne Rund and other top executives.
The paper reports the union compiled a 17-page list of complaints and presented it to County Executive Johnny Olszewski Junior.
The balloting saw almost 45 percent voting no confidence in Rund, which means it failed to pass.
Olszewski's office issued a statement saying it fully supports its volunteer firefighters but that the report does not reflect reality.
