(Timonium, MD) -- The Maryland State Fair is reminding fairgoers that anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone after 6:00 p.m.
Officials say in 2022 a significant percentage of misconduct and incidents involved minors, and protocols have been adjusted this year for safety and security.
The policy does not apply to group outings or those participating in 4-H or FFA competitions where existing chaperone procedures are in place.
The fair is open through Monday this weekend and again from September 7 through the 10th.
