(Baltimore, MD) -- BGE is asking customers to conserve energy due to an expected increase in demand for electricity throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
The utility says even though there could be a strain on the power grid, there should be enough electricity to meet the anticipated high demand.
BGE has also announced its second Energy Savings Day of the season today, meaning customers with a smart meter will receive bill credits if they voluntarily cut their electricity usage between 2 and 6 p.m.
Also, those in the PeakRewards program will have their central air automatically cycled up to the 50-percent level.
