Police commissioner nominee to face confirmation vote Monday night

(Baltimore, MD) -- Mayor Brandon Scott's nominee for police commissioner faces a confirmation vote tonight in the full Baltimore City Council.

Last week, the Council's Rules and Legislative Oversight Committee voted unanimously to confirm Richard Worley.

Mayor Scott named Worley acting commissioner in June following the departure of former Commissioner Michael Harrison.

If Worley is confirmed, the Baltimore Board of Estimates will vote on his proposed $285,000 annual contract on Wednesday.
